Good news for JLR (Jaguar Land Rover) car owners

Cox Mahon is pleased to announce some positive news for drivers of Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Discovery, and Defender vehicles – we are now able to offer comprehensive and competitive insurance terms for those models registered from 2019 onwards. Cox Mahon, the specialist insurance broker and part of the Ardonagh Group, has direct access to the market through an established UK-based, Lloyd’s Underwritten insurer. This follows a successful two-year trial between JLR and the insurer, highlighting the insurer’s confidence in covering these premium vehicles.

There are certain terms and conditions that will apply to each enquiry. For example, policies will need to include three or more vehicles, with at least one vehicle from the JLR models listed and valued at £75,000 or more. Qualifying vehicles do not require any additional or after-market security installations.

While garaging is not mandatory, vehicles must be parked on a driveway, behind secure gates, or within a secure compound. In cases of the largest collections, street parked vehicles can also be considered.

One of the main reasons UK insurers are now reassessing their appetite for certain high-end vehicles is due to enhanced security features in JLR models registered from 2019 onwards. These upgrades provide the insurer with greater confidence when underwriting policies. Additionally, JLR has supplied extensive vehicle data, which has been integrated and leveraged alongside the insurer’s proprietary data and machine learning capabilities, helping to refine risk assessment and pricing. These security and data improvements are not available in earlier models, which is why previous registrations may not qualify under these new terms.
